21310575719_12.jpgIf you, like me love the elegant look that you can get on your layouts by using dry embossing, here are some scrap-booking ideas for some easy ways to get that embossed look for your scrapbook layouts. Most scrap-booking enthusiasts that I know have done embossing on some of their layouts or used ready made embossed pages.
Embossing is a simple technique, and it has been popular for centuries, as it adds a slightly 3D look to your projects. It also adds some subtle texture and is great to use for card making and on heavier paper types. It is a popular technique to use on elegant pages in your scrap-booking album, like for instance your wedding day, or even a child’s christening. Dry embossing is a far simpler technique than heat embossing, so don’t get confused here. Heat embossing involves the use of inks, stamps and heat guns. Dry embossing involves simply pressing a design into card or paper to make a raised pattern on the other side.
If you have never done embossing before, it is a great idea to buy ready embossed card stock and paper to work with.
